Pedifix FungaSoap

Pedifix FungaSoap was designed to combat the issue of nail fungus infections, which are common among many. These toenail or fingernail fungus issues can last for an extended period, necessitating weeks, or even months, of treatment. FungaSoap is to be applied during washes of the feet, hands, or other body parts, but should never be used as a shampoo or taken internally.

The ingredients in Pedifix are natural and are mainly antibacterial in nature – there are no ingredients that will actually serve reliably as a fungicide. The manufacturer claims that using Pedifix FungaSoap will help to “Wash Fungus & Bacteria Away from the Skin Surface”. Questions might be raised as to its efficacy in curing nail fungus as the fungus grows mainly under the nail.

Pedifix FungaSoap Ingredients

This compound is said to be effective not only for removal of fungi and bacteria, but also for moisturizing the skin. It does appear to contain all natural ingredients in its formulation:

• Olive oil is good at moisturizing the skin and has also been shown to be effective against certain kinds of bacteria, such as staphylococcus.
• Coconut oil, like olive oil, is an efficient moisturizer. It also has antimicrobial qualities that can help to prevent or cure bacterial infections that may be occurring alongside the fungus.
• Jojoba oil not only provides conditioning and antibacterial elements, it also serves as an anti-inflammatory.
• The blend of menthol and tea tree oils might actually provide some antifungal benefit to Pedifix. It has been shown that menthol can help to cure nail fungus infections, as can tea tree oil. However, the problem with both of these oils is getting them to the fungus itself – menthol and tea tree oils are unable to penetrate the nail to reach the fungus growing in the nail bed.
• Guar gum is used to thicken Pedifix FungaSoap.
• Aloe does have some antifungal properties, at least as regards fungal skin infections. In the laboratory, at least, it has shown that it can interrupt the growth of fungi, but once again, the problem is delivering the aloe directly to the under-nail fungus.
• Rosemary leaf extract may be useful in restoring the appearance of the nails.
• Glycerin helps to keep the soap smooth and easy-flowing.
• Iron oxide might be added as an anti-oxidizing agent.

One of the most powerful antifungals is undyclenic acid, and this substance is notably absent from Pedifix FungaSoap. Some of the ingredients above have been shown to exhibit antifungal properties, but often the ability for the substance to actually reach the fungus in the nail bed is absent. Some of the oils have molecules that are too large to pass through the nail to reach the fungus in the nail and beneath it.
